Maintenance Instructions

As we mentioned in our previous article, we have  three different surface treatments here at MOOKA. We have put together this daily care guide tailored to these three different finishes for our river tables. We hope you can check it according to the table you purchased to properly maintain it which will help keep it in great condition.

General Maintenance

1.Humidity of the using environment

Mooka's river tables went through a strict kiln-drying process,  which made the raw material exceptionally stable. As a result, it's applicable ambient humidity range is much wider than that of ordinary wood tables in the market, our river tables can easily adapt to an indoor humidity range of 20% to 70%.

However, a single humidity level does not affect the usage of a solid wood table top,but the rapidly changing humidity environment  does. A snow weather can be very hard for  wood tables. If indoor heating is turned on, resulting in high and dry temperatures, cold and damp outdoor air instantly entering the room can cause a drastic shift in environmental humidity, putting the solid wood dining table at risk of cracking. If you also have such conditions, it is recommended to use humidifier to reduce this risk.

2.Never place the table in intense sunlight

Long-term direct sunlight will lead to wood oxidation and discoloration, and even due to the temperature difference is too large cracking or deformation phenomenon.

3.Stay away from a heater

No not close to a heater(i.e. radiator, fireplace, furnace, barbecue stove)  to avoid high temperature cracking or deformation phenomenon, use a coaster when put a hot dishes on it.

4.Clean up the table in time

The water, dust and dirt on the table should be cleaned and dry wiped in time to keep the table clean and tidy for a longer usage.

Sanding and Refinishing

A solid wood epoxy river table is more durable than an ordinary furniture, even so wear and tear caused in daily use is inevitable, following these tips will have your table still looks new many years later.
